What makes this car so unique goes beyond its film history. After a search spanning no less than 18 years by enthusiasts worldwide, the Skyline was unexpectedly rediscovered—hidden on the second floor of a private home. Although several Nissan Skylines were used during the filming of the movie, this specific model is the “hero car.” This means it is the car that the character Brian O’Conner (Paul Walker) drove the most and which appears in the majority of the scenes. That is precisely what makes this Skyline one of the most valuable and recognizable cars in the entire Fast & Furious franchise.

The restoration

Chromecars has now begun a meticulous restoration to fully restore the car to its original condition as seen in the film. They are collaborating with Modern Image, among others—the company responsible for the Skyline’s iconic design and graphics at the time. As Chromecars aptly puts it: “So if you want to do it right… you go back to the source.”

Following this restoration, the Skyline will be reunited with the rest of the original Fast & Furious movie cars in the Chromecars collection—a unique collection that keeps an important piece of film and automotive history alive.
