Storage as customs goods
A unique service offered by Marlog Europe is the possibility to store vehicles as customs goods. This means that the vehicle has not yet been imported into the European Union and remains under customs supervision. As a result, it retains its transit status, and import duties and VAT are only due at the time of import.
This solution is especially useful if, for example, you are not yet sure in which EU country you ultimately want to import the vehicle. By storing the vehicle in transit, you maintain maximum flexibility to decide this later — without immediately incurring import costs.
The scheme also offers interesting financial advantages, particularly for vehicles that are approaching the classic car age of 30 years. Once a vehicle is older than 30 years and is in original condition, a favorable import rate applies: only 9% VAT and no import duties. For younger vehicles, the import duties are 10% and the VAT is 21%. By storing your vehicle with us first, you can strategically plan and potentially save significantly on import costs.
